Somewhere along the line this series loses its way. At its heart though what an excellent concept, this idea of people returning. I don't think there have really been many other movies or shows where the dead come back alive. I mean there was that one film back in the 60's, but it had, 'Living Dead' in the title, so of course it was gonna be about zombies.
The rejuvenating thing about Les Revenants is the clash of normalcy and impossibility, "is it dead? is it alive? Should I whack it with my shovel?", and the spectrum suggested in-between. Slowly though you start to realize the writers don't really know where to go with it.
